AI Supported Tracking System for Illegal Buildings from Mudanya Municipality

Mudanya Municipality has launched the AI supported Satellite Based Building Monitoring System to be used in the fight against illegal construction. The system developed by the municipality detects construction changes throughout the district by analyzing regularly updated satellite images.

Thanks to new technology, in addition to unauthorized constructions, license status, real estate movements, road works and occupied areas can be monitored digitally. The aim is to speed up the inspection process by forwarding possible violations directly to the relevant municipal units.

Mudanya Mayor Deniz Dalgıç stated that the system will especially contribute to the protection of agricultural lands and that illegal construction can be intervened more quickly thanks to early detection. The municipality aims to increase efficiency in inspection processes and prevent illegal construction with the system developed with domestic infrastructure.
